Duracast® fiberglass expands at almost the same rate as glass, which reduces the risk of seal failure through freeze-thaw cycles. Impervia is rated to DP50 under ASTM E330.
The powder-coat finish meets AAMA 624 and resists chalking, fading, and scratching, including in dark colors.

Yes. In testing performed to ASTM standards, Pella reports that Duracast outperforms aluminum for strength and resistance to dents and scratches, and is roughly 100 times more impact-resistant than a leading composite product by Pella’s own testing.
Pella’s Duracast fiberglass components on the Impervia line are covered for as long as the original buyer owns and occupies the home, or 10 years, transferable if the home is sold. Paint finish is covered separately for 10 years.
Yes. Unlike many fiberglass composites, Duracast can be painted to match your home’s exterior or interior if you want to change the color later.
